A BBQ.

Most of the time I am bra-less. Only panty-less when I run but could not do that all day!

Right now a shopping spree. In major need of new clothes.

4. would you rather eat escargot or sauteed crickets?

Escargot. They are actually pretty tasty

5. would you rather go on survivor or the amazing race?

Amazing race.

6. would you rather be hot or cold?

Hot. I cannot think very well if I am cold.

7. would you rather go to the beach or lake?

I live at the lake so probably to get away the beach. BUT I love the lake.

8. would you rather not shave your legs for a month in the summer or your armpits?

Hard one. I hate to shave but I cannot miss my armpits. They are more noticeable with hair. . .gross.

Follow me, Chickadee (Hosted by: The Life of a Sippy Cup Mom!, Stash Mama, Lilac City Momma, Dandy Giveaway and One + One=Four

Sippy Cup Mom

The Life of a Sippy Cup Mom!, Stash Mama, Lilac City Momma, Dandy Giveaway and One + One=Four have teamed up to cohost Follow Me, Chickadee!

My Goals for the day:

1. Run! I need to do my long run today since I missed it this weekend because I worked. We will see.

2. Paint my youngest son's bedroom. It has been in a state of dismay for about 2 month. The kids get out for the summer soon. I need to get this done before then!

3. Laundry, Laundry, and more Laundry!

That's about it. If I added more, I would be totally overwhelmed and would not accomplish ANY of the above.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Thursdays Thoughts!

Nonrunners cannot see how they can afford the time to run every day.

But runners cannot imagine getting through a single day without it.

Totally Terrific Tuesday!

Well you may ask why today is Totally Terrific. Recently, I started training for the Virginia Beach Rock n Roll half in September. I have not been very motivated so I invested the help of my secret weapon that I stumbled upon on active.com. A couple of years ago, Lowell Ladd helped me become a runner. See, I was trying to do it the wrong way. I would go out, run so hard and kill myself and feel like crap at the end. He taught me the right way of doing this and helped me enjoy running. I have since competed in several raced and ran 2 half marathons. Here is a little about 2lcoaching services:

Lowell Ladd

  • Coaching Background:

Coach Ladd has been a full-time online coach since April of 2001. After working for another company for almost four years, he founded 2L Coaching Services in January 2005. He has worked with hundreds of athletes all over the world of varying ability levels as an online coach, including multiple All-Americans and one NCAA national champion. Lowell has also coached at the college level, serving as part-time head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country coach for Chestnut Hill College (Philadelphia) from 2005-2009 and as Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach for distance runners at Dickinson College from 1999-2001.

  • Coaching Certifications:

USA Track & Field Level I

USA Track & Field Level II - Endurance

  • Coaching Philosophy:

“My philosophy of coaching and running in three fold: First, and foremost, people need to enjoy running. Second, I want to make sure that people stay healthy. Running is an impact sport, and injuries are a bane to many runners, so I take it as a challenge to keep people healthy so that they don’t miss time running. Finally, I want to see people make progress. Whether that means running faster, further, or more regularly than they have before, it is important to help people find/set goals and work towards those goals so that they have some purpose in this sport.”

  • Writings:

Peak Running Performance - regular contributing writer and "Training Expert"

Runners World Magazine – as an “Ask the Expert” for the April 2005 edition

New England Runner Magazine – article published on barefoot running

  • Running Background:

NCAA All-American (10,000m)

Finished among top ten Americans at Boston Marathon twice (2002 & 2003)

Runner-up finish at 2005 Steamtown Marathon

Winner of the 2008 Harrisburg Marathon and 2010 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut Marathon (Reading, PA)

Personal Bests: Marathon – 2:22:34; ½ Marathon – 1:09:04; 10 Miles – 52:06; 10K – 30:59; 5K – 14:50

He keeps in touch with me via the internet daily if I wish and pushes me to hit my goals. It is an awesome way to stay motivated and easy for those of us who do not know how to train.

ANYWAY! While I was running I started thinking about how lucky I am to be able to run. The Lord has bless me with my family, job, and health. As I took in the scenic area that I like in on Lake Gaston, NC I began to pray to my Lord, Thanking Him for everything. I am also so thankful that He stood by me while I was waiting on my results from my dermatologist. I am extremely LUCKY because they were able to remove ALL of the MELANOMA> I hate that word but it is what it is. SUNSCREEN IS MY BEST FRIEND!
